At the scene of the accident:

Telephone an Ambulance or Doctor if anyone is injured.
Clear the roadway of any debris - if safe to do so.
Notify the Police if vehicle damage is extensive or if anyone is injured. Obtain the Report Number from the Police.
Obtain full detail of vehicles, drivers AND WITNESS(S):
  • Name and Phone number
  • Address
  • Registration number
  • Insurance Company
Print off our "accident details" form to use to complete all the necessary information.
Drivers must exchange details with the other parties involved, but should not discuss who is at fault, nor admit any liability. Do not offer to accept any payments.
Write down names, addresses and telephone numbers of all witnesses.
If your vehicle requires towing tell the tow truck operator you are insured with Insurance House of Australia. Personal items should be removed from the vehicle before it is towed away.

After the accident:

Contact us with full details as soon as possible by calling Insurance House of Australia on (07) 5570 6777 and we will tell you the process to follow to get your vehicle repaired.
DO NOT authorise repairs without our prior consent.
Send us a copy of any correspondence from any other parties or any notice of impending prosecution or legal action IMMEDIATELY you receive them.
Do not take legal action without our consent.
 

Windscreen damage

We have appointed Windscreens O’Brien as our recommended windscreen repairer. You can contact them directly on 13 16 16 and they will arrange replacement or repair of your windscreen anywhere in Australia.

Alternatively you can choose your own windscreen repairer.
